The kids were out of school so we went & enjoyed the beautiful coast. Camping is one thing that EVERYONE of us in our family thoroughly enjoy and look forward too so we are always really excited to go. This trip seemed to present some difficulties but we worked through them. =) The first obstacle was getting a major flat tire on the way. Thanks to very nice drivers- we were flagged down and were able to make the repair. It happened to be that we pulled off at an exit which had a privately owned RV repair shop so they let us borrow their tools (thanks nice man at the shop). Once we finally got to our favorite camping spot, we could not get the fridge to work. I know- its not hardcore camping but when you bring ice cream and lots of other food that needs refrigerating, then that can be quite disappointing. But, thanks to Elliot's "mad fixing skills" (like I call them)- he saved the day (or actually the food) and we were in business. Then, that night as Macie was going to bed, she laid her head down on her pillow and seriously bashed her forehead on part of the trailer (not good). After much consoling- she went to sleep but I was a little nervous. That night- she woke up in the middle of the night, totally congested and sick. So, for the rest of the trip-she was sick =( Day #2 our batteries for the trailer totally died and we thought we would be cutting our trip short..... but luckily we found a place that could charge them..... so woo hoo- we were able to stay. Elliot, Ellie and Scot were able to hike the big mountain (technically a sand dune). From where I was at the trailer- they looked like little Ants walking up a hill. Poor Ellie somehow managed to fall directly backwards injuring her tailbone.... so she was pretty sore the rest of the trip. On Friday- The Jensen's and my parents were surprisingly able to come out and enjoy the day.... so we were able to play some major track ball and bocci ball, as well as play in the sand dunes. The weather cooperated the whole time which we were very grateful. We decided to come home a little early because camping with a little sick Macie really isn't the greatest. But we all loved being able to get away and enjoy the peaceful coast!

Our son got sick the last time we camped...nothing like cleaning up after a sick boy in a tent! Sorry your daughter was sick, but it sounds like you still had fun.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I am in love with your new dog!
